Listen To Me A Fusion Novel eBook Kristen Proby
I love contemporary romances and came across Listen to Me by Kristen Proby about a month ago. Prior to reading this book, I had never read anything written by her before but her books seemed like ones I would enjoy so I decided to give this one a try."'I know that our love isn't perfect, Addie. But I do know that I will fight for us, I will protect you.'"
Addison (Addie) Wade is one of five owners of the popular new restaurant, Seduction in Portland, Oregon. She and her four close friends are determined to make Seduction one of the hottest places to eat and work hard to achieve their goal. Addie is given the task of finding a musician to provide live music on the weekends and meets Jake Knox, a rock star who now goes by his real name Jake Keller. Jake hasn't been singing as much as he used to and instead is producing music in his own studio. Jake takes the job at Seduction and is immediately attracted to Addie despite her intentions of keeping her distance from him. Addie has trust and abandonment issues and guards her heart closely to protect herself and Jake is scared he will unintentionally hurt another person he loves like he did to his best friend. If the two of them can learn to love and trust each other, they will be amazing for each other.
"'We don't need a song. We are a song.'"
I enjoyed Listen to Me but didn't find it to be particularly enthralling. It was somewhat predictable but the characters made the book enjoyable enough because Addie and her friends are sweet, hilarious, and sound like girls I would have as friends. I liked the romance between Addie and Jake. I think my favorite part about this book is that it takes place in Portland which I have visited several times so I happen to know of many of the places Kristen Proby mentions. I've also eaten at some restaurants in Portland and think it's an ideal setting for the fictitious Seduction restaurant! I liked reading this book and will most likely read the other books in the Fusion series. For me, this one wasn't extremely exciting but I enjoyed it enough and would like to read the rest of the girls' stories.

Listen To Me A Fusion Novel eBook Kristen Proby Reviews
Kristen Proby begins a new series with this novel. Five friends have opened a popular, trendy new restaurant called Seduction. Each one is responsible for a different aspect of the restaurant. Addison and her friends decide to add live entertainment on the weekends. Addie hires Jake Keller. Jake used to be the lead singer/guitarist in a hot band but after a tragic event several years before that happened to his best friend for which he feels responsible (although it wasn't his fault), the band breaks up and he goes into writing/producing with one of the former band members. He misses live performances, but doesn't want to go back to the huge live concerts and drug/alcohol/meaningless sexual encounters of before. Hence, his desire to play at Seduction. Due to past relationships with musicians that have ended badly, Addie tries to maintain a professional-only relationship with Jake, but he wears her down. There is a sub-plot about the musician/loser ex-boyfriend of Addie's who tries to reenter her life and the unresolved issue with the past tragedy in Jake's life that ends their relationship. When Jake comes to his senses, he is finally able to win her back. I'd rate this book a 3.5. It's not a bad story, but not as good as many of her other books. I am looking forward to the next one, Cali's story, due to the background developed in this one and the excerpt.
All I have to say is Kristen Proby have done it again. I have been a fan of her writing for three years and every time I have read one of her books I end the book with great satisfaction. She knows exactly the right things to say on paper in order to keep her readers interested and keep us wanting more. I really, really enjoyed "Listen to Me," to me it was a story about redemption and forgiveness. Jake, who is the main, needed to redeem himself from something that happen years ago, he needed to learn how to forgive himself for something that he didn't have any control over because if he didn't he wouldn't be able to move on with his life. A life which would include Addison, oh how I loved her. She was spunky, independent, and knew exactly what she wanted out of life. The only thing only aspect of her life she had an issue with was her love life, in her past relationships she have been deceived so much that she had a problem with trusting any man; especially a musician like Jake. I enjoyed watching these two characters come together as one and try to build a relationship that was everlasting, it was very beautiful to watch them try to get over the obstacles in their lives and become one. Then we have a sex scenes, of course they're hot, Kristen Proby has wrote some of the hottest sex scenes that I have read. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, I have a feeling I'm going to shed a tear or five.
