Eve & Adam certainly starts out with a bang! Literally! I was hooked from the very first sentence. Although I was also quite disturbed since Eve's leg gets ripped clean off, but aside from that, this book is awesome. It's not perfect, but it's definitely a great, fun, unique read.

This is a rare case where I wished for Disappearing Parent Syndrome. Well, Eve's dad is dead, but her mom...OMG, she is Satan! I hated her immediately and just wanted her to shut up and go away. I guess being a bitch comes along with being an uber rich, uber important scientist though. I normally enjoy evil characters, but she had no known motivation, which made her just frustrating rather than interesting.

Solo, you are a creep! A super smart creep, but still a creep. His chapters are interesting, and he becomes less creepy as the story moves forward. At first his connection to the Adam Project isn't clear at all, and I couldn't figure out why he was so adamant about bringing Terre Spiker down (aside from her being a crazy bitch of course). But all is revealed close to the end, and it's kind of a shock!

Aislin, the BFF, is a total mess and I suppose she was the catalyst for the big reveal about Eve's medical situation. However, her plot in general was really random and felt out of place. It all involves her gangbanger boyfriend and other thugs running lose in San Francisco and money drops. By the end I failed to see the point of her plot. As a character though, I really like Aislin. She's the opposite of Eve in almost every way and provided some great comic relief.

I don't have anything to say about Eve, so let's get to the plot. I loved it! I am a huge fan of science in books, so of course I was completely engrossed in this one! Genetics isn't my strong suit, but I understand enough. Is what Terra's company doing possible? I have no clue, but it sure makes for an entertaining read! Oh, and of course creating the perfect male specimen is all kinds of fun, too!

All in all, Eve and Adam is a super fun, sci-fi book. I love the science and the technology, and the possibilities that this book presents. It's a very fast read, and I'd recommend it!

Eve and Adam is a cute, young adult science fiction book.

Eve, a teen who is mostly worried about her homework, is in an accident and her leg is almost severed. Her mother shows up at the hospital and transfers her to the bio-pharmaceutical company that she owns. Mom sets daughter up with a project design the perfect man, via genetic simulation on a computer. Eve's best friend helps her a bit as Eve thinks about the ideal intelligence level, muscles, and such. While Eve is in Weird Science land, Solo, her mother's ward, shows up and meets her. Solo gets Eve to see some truths about her life and involves her in his plan to destroy her mother.

This book is definitely set up for young adults. I'm a forty-year-old housewife and I enjoyed it, but if I were to write it for my age group, there'd be a lot more substance in it.

That said, I think I'll try to get my daughter to read it in a few years. There are some great discussion topics in it.

Is there such a thing as too intelligent?
Is helping a lot of people worth hurting a few?
What is morally acceptable in the pursuit of research?
It just didn't really leave an impression on me.
After reading Eve and Adam I was a little disappointed, I felt that there was not enough of a love triangle between the two boys and Evening. I think that it would have made an interesting sequel if the book ended with Adam meeting Eve leaving us on a cliffhanger. Compared to many other love triangle based books I have read (Twilight, Hunger games, Matched, ect.) I think it had plenty of suspense, romance, and action, plus plenty of shocking secrets and was very well written overall. Even so, it lacked in standing out from other books (aside from the whole woman creating man aspect) because the book was consisted of (SPOILER!!!!!!) a girl who finds out she has superhuman abilities, a love triangle where everyone is happily matched up in the end, and running from the villains. Over all though, I highly reccomend it to anyone interested in sci fi romance.
I've decided to read the sample first to see how bad this book is, seemingly setting how many bad ratings I've seen on goodreads, but after reading the sample, this is a pretty decent book. It's not terrible, but it's not that great also. It talks about this whole that has no point at all in this story but the good thing is, the story keeps going and doesn't bore you.
I wasn't paying attention. I thought it was BOOK 1-5. This is some sort of promotion and there wasn't even enough for me to know if the book was any good.
First of all, I know a bunch of people might be worried that I bought the wrong copy of EVE AND ADAM.. thanks, but I know that it's only chapters 1-5. I had ordered this from the library, and I couldn't wait for it to get here, so I got a head start. Not only that, but I love that they offer free choice. 1-5 stuff because you can see if you really want to get the book or if it already sounds boring. I love Michael Grant' s writing style... the book literally sucks you in... DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS BOOK!!!!
