A beautifully written book. Though the message is serious, the goofy names, little jokes and colorful illustrations keep kids' attention so they can hear its important message. My nephew is bi-racial and unfortunately we live in a world where that could bring challenges for him. I want him to know he is extraordinary and can overcome any negativity that might come his way. This book is a great way to start that important conversation.Tags : Absurdimals: Lola Goes to School - Kindle edition by Gwendolyn Javor, Melissa Spears. Absurdimals Lola Goes to School edition by Gwendolyn Javor Melissa Spears Children eBooks Reviews
Great little book! Love the story! My niece and nephew loves Lola!
Lola Goes to School is a beautifully crafted positive story helping little children to deal with a big problem.
a Parent....
My children love this book, it not only sparks their imagination But it teaches them about self love and respect.
The simplicity of the language belies the poignancy of the book. Lola weathers adversity to come out stronger. Important message!
Embracing your individuality is not something kids are taught at such a young age. Being a parent of 3 I wanted to inspire my kids to be themselves and Absurdimals is the best way to introduce this. The author Gwen Javor is amazing and can’t wait for more books to come out ;)
A unique and refreshing story that all can learn from. The story delves into issues that play important roles in all children's lives and portrays a sense of hope and understanding that is nothing short of extraordinary. A worthy edition to any child's library!
I read this and almost started crying. It's about being a weirdo, and god knows we're all weirdos. Some people will treat us badly for being different, but in the end, whatever makes each person special is stronger than that. This is a book about self-love, and it can benefit everyone, not just children. If more people felt the love that Lola does, the world would be a better place.
