ROWAN OF THE WOODOP Christine Rose Ethan Rose Books
Being of the mind that fantasy is one of those things that all kids should have the opportunity to experience and all adults should lighten up and enjoy, I really liked this book. The authors' descriptions of the land and the characters are so wonderful and vibrant that you can't help falling head first into this story. Possibly the most exciting part of this book for me, was that each of the characters has a mission in mind when they are introduced to the reader. Much as the case with some of the classic works, like 'the Hobbit,' there is a point to this story from the very beginning and I never stopped to wonder, "Is this going somewhere?"The only thing I was a little confused about, is what age group this book was intended for. The book is great, don't get me wrong. It's just that the cover art makes it look like it is for a young audience and yet the text is often formal sounding and seems to be above the reading level I would have expected based on the cover. The authors have a wonderful grasp on language and how to use it for the desired effect within their story, but sometimes it seemed a bit advanced.
Overall, I really liked this book and would encourage others to get lost between the magic of these covers. Unique. Appealing.

ROWAN OF THE WOODOP Christine Rose Ethan Rose Books Reviews
Loved every page! I can't wait to read book 2!
Such a wonderful adventure - the usage of Druid lore through out the book is a delight and will transport you into a wonderful crafted world.
Perfect for the young at heart.
This book reads quickly. If the same plot had been dragged out an extra 50% it would have suffered.
As it was, there was an interesting plot and all of the characters roughly came into their own as pieces more or less fit themselves together with not too much prodding from the author.
I would recommend it to those with a penchant for "magic is here, just hidden and forgotten" tales, which would generally include myself.
I love this book and eagerly look forward to reading the second book of the series Witch on the water. The star crossed husband and wife, Rowan and Fiana, are separated at the end of this book so I am in a hurry to keep reading.
This book was selected by my creatures book club this month. I found this book boring, and especially did not like how it took a long time to go over what happened in the past but rushed the ending. I also didn't care for the characters. Well, maybe I liked April and Maddy a bit, but they were not the main characters. There were also many errors that shows this book did not go through a good editing process. I can't stand seeing multiple errors in books I had to pay for. I was just underwhelmed, and expected more after reading all the glowing reviews.
I didn't expect much from this little book at first. I'd read about it on twitter, and was just curious.
My initial reaction was that it was an unusual hybrid, with elements of 12-year-old main character, adult romance, and YA fantasy. Most publishers would never risk putting out a mash-up like that, but more of them should - because this book is proof that it can really work!
I was surprised to find myself rapidly devouring the whole book, followed by its two sequels, and am eagerly awaiting the fourth in the series. In fact, I finished reading the second book on on the elliptical trainer at the gym and immediately bought and started reading the third, without ever pausing in my workout.
I'm guessing Rowan of the Wood would appeal most to Harry Potter fans. I love Harry Potter myself, and found several attributes of this book that were reminiscent of those stories - although Rowan of the Wood is definitely it's own unique, and very cool thing.
